Summer Stonefruit Sorbet

At Haut Appetit we are beating the heat with no-bake treats! Luscious peaches, crisp nectarines, velvety apricots and tart plums come together in a sorbet that will take you on a ride. Sorbets can often be one note, but this combination packs a depth of flavor that will linger in your mouth all summer long.

Stonefruit Sorbet

Ingredients:

2 pounds stonefruit (your choice of peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots)

1 ½ cups simple syrup

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

1 tablespoon Grand Marnier (optional)

Directions:

1. Make the simple syrup: Boil 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water until dissolved. Cool to room temperature

2. Chop up the fruit and discard seeds. Place in a blender with syrup, zest, juice and Grand Marnier, if using. Blend until smooth. Chill for at least 2 hours in the fridge.

3. Churn the sorbet in an ice cream maker to manufacturer’s specifications and freeze for at least 4 hours before enjoying.

*The Grand Marnier keeps the sorbet from getting too icy.
