With NYFW wrapping up, we’re obsessing over all the beauty trends we observed on the runways. We can’t wait to try them out for ourselves. A whole new season of beauty trends – color us excited! Here are our top picks for beauty looks to try this upcoming season from NYFW.
Blonde and Blonder
From the newly bleached blonde locks of Kylie Jenner to Frank Ocean’s newest drop, the haute shade of the moment is undoubtedly blonde. Most noticeably, Alexander Wang sent down a multi-ethnic army of bleached blonde gals who sparked a blonde-hair frenzy. Light, lighter and lightest – we are loving it.
The celebrity-filled audience at the Hood By Air show loved the collection and we’re obsessing over it too. Not only for the urban cooler-than-cool clothes the models stomped down the runway in, but for the avant garde styling as well. Slick back hair was a highlight of the show and kept with the minimal urban motif. Another notable slicked back mention? Thakoon with wet-looking 90’s updos.
The Red Lip
Every season there’s an updated take on the classic red lip. This time around we’re seeing a fluorescent version of the rouge pout at Jason Wu and matte red lips on a smattering of other designer runways as well. Looks like the matte lip, red or otherwise, is here to stay as well.
Snapchat Filters IRL
One of the most talked about makeup looks from the shows was Desigual’s Snapchat filters in real life. From the ever-popular puppy face, to the deer, to the flower crowns we’ve seen time and time again in our Snapchat stories, models rocked the filters through makeup and artistry in real life. Probably not as applicable to everyday errands so much as a fun party idea, we loved seeing them come to life nonetheless.
Stranger (Beauty) Things
There’s no denying the 80’s are back and with a vengeance. From Stranger Things on our television sets to the models at NYFW, the decade’s influence is undeniable. Adam Selman had models with touches of soft pink on their eyes, lips and cheeks, and Nicholas K had models rock high ponies and silver eyeliner. Carefree and highly styled – just how we like our 80’s looks.
