From Men’s Fashion Week to The Taste of London

Wearing vintage pants, Jimmy Choo pumps, Balenciaga Papier clutch, Zara top & jacket.

It was a thumbs-up kind of week this time around in London. Starting off with Men’s Fashion Week and onto the Taste of London, my week of fashion and food in the British metropolis never ceased to please.

So, if I’m a women’s fashion blogger, then why bother with men’s fashion week? Well sorry to say gals, but so much of women’s wear is inspired by men’s (and  vice versa)! Trousers, jeans, brogues, the oversized T… the list goes on, and its all because of our interest in what the other half is wearing. Quite the insatiable fashion appetite we have that we want what the men have too! But of course! The latest trends on the men’s catwalks certainly won’t be far off from the women’s to come… First up, Jimmy Choo presentation.

My jetlag hunger was cured by a quick run to the Selfridges Food Hall
A marshmallow éclair? Ummmm, yes please.

Nothing like a vegan, gluten free pudding from Selfridges to cure my jetlag 😉
Next up, The Horiyoshi III event presented by A-list actress Tilda Swinton. The men’s collection, inspired by the Japanese tatto artist Horiyoshi, counts celebrity fans Mick Jagger and Ms Swinton herself, who often rocks the androgynous look.
Outside the event in a Japanese inspired jacket, Prada bag and Jenni Kayne flats.

It was held just down from Buckingham Palace, overlooking The Mall (no not the shopping mall, the road leading to Buckingham Palace…no big deal.)

A look from the collection. Sorry ladies, beards are not in for us.
Between the shows and Taste of London, I shot for a new British clothing label Language of Flowers that you MUST check out!! Get the tops HERE and visit their website for the romantic story behind every top…

I loved this flower crown a bit too much…!

An up-do for the shoot…

My week was only getting better… The Taste of London was next on the menu, a London food festival held annually in Regent’s Park featuring some of the best restaurants and bakeries in the country. How could I say no…

Macarons stack from Ganache Macarons…yummyyyy.

Biting into a Ganache Macaron
Then I found the Breadshop stand offering a variety of spelt breads and the likes of Quarkini balls… Posing with baked goods in a Belstaff jacket is always a good look.

And finally may I present to you… A dessert trend of the moment… Marshmallows!!

I think the pictures speak for themselves… Delicious and full of unique flavour… I had to try them all!

Be sure to check out The Marshmallowists!

Eating under the tress on a cool summer’s day in London. Can you think of anything more blissful?

Ok I’m not going to lie, I had some ice cream too… Sheep’s milk strawberry ice cream (low fat and low lactose). Can’t leave a food festival without ice cream now can I…

Check back tomorrow for my afternoon at the most fashionable afternoon tea in London…
